Bosch launches Light Drive-Glasses become smart glasses

Bosch is a German multinational engineering and technology company that introduced a light projection system called Light Drive, which allows ordinary glasses to become smart projection devices and supports gesture operations.

Retains Lightness

Installing Light Drive on ordinary glasses does not cause too much weight for the wearer, and it is also the same as ordinary glasses in appearance.

The inside is equipped with a set of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) based collimated light scanner. That scans onto a holographic element embedded in the lens of the glasses to redirect the transmitted image to the human eye. Focusing the image on the focal point of the human eye can make the human eye clearly see the transmitted image even under strong light.

Light Drive is designed to work with a smart sensor that can do things like navigation, and gesture recognition. Confirm the current direction through the gyroscope, and can even recognize data such as height changes. You can also interact with the smart glasses by tapping on their frames.

Light Drive components can be used with ordinary lenses allowing wearers to obtain real-time information through the first-person perspective, such as incoming calls, SMS, email, or navigation applicate.

Bosch does not make smart glasses on its own. Bosch will seek to sell the microdisplay system to other companies.

The new Light Drive will be unveiled publicly at CES 2020 in January. Hope to find more partners.
